Oh, very belatedly thank you!!! It's a beautiful story and your reading is just amazingly perfect for it. I think John's loneliness is very much there in the written version but in your reading it becomes truly haunting. And I spend a lot of effort on having clean recordings and cutting out all background noises and clicks and hisses (mostly :), so yes, that's something I think is definitely worth noting. It's work that isn't immediately noticeable a lot of times but for me it separates the tolerable from the really good (other things all being equal). I can't list how often I've listened to Wide Open Ocean--when i was in SGA probably a dozen or two...and several times since. And twice since I started planning this rec post :)
