For the last few months the Audiofic Archive has been experiencing some technical problems. After the site
was upgraded in the hopes of curing these problems, some of the issues did lessen. However, a lot of new problems cropped up, most notable from the front end being the broken site scheme and the temporary loss of the browsable tag pages.
Unfortunately, while we hoped this was an issue that could easily be remedied, the underlying problem has not been discovered and the archive has been slowly losing functionality on the back end. The archivists recently lost the ability to edit the entries they create on the site, and yesterday we lost the ability to create entries altogether.
general_jinjur is in the process of obtaining help to get the archive fixed and back on its feet, but in the meantime all archiving must regrettably be put on hold. We're really sorry for the inconvenience, and we don't want this to slow your podfic making down, especially since Amplificathon is in full swing!
We want to encourage everyone to keep posting podfic! Since we don't know for sure how long this pause will last (though hopefully not very long!), we suggest that you choose temporary hosts for your audio files that will last a while and/or will refresh their allotted hosting time with every download (for instance, Mediafire and Megaupload are recommended choices). Please also keep your audio files on hand in case your temporary link expires before the archivists get to it -- we don't want to lose your podfic to the ether! If your situation is such that a permanent link is needed as soon as possible, please email us at audmod @ gmail and we can provide a permanent download link for you.
We'll let you know if and when the archive is taken down for maintenance, and when archiving is able to resume. Until then, keep on keeping on!
