I'm sorry that clip was disjointed for you. The rationale behind the inclusion of the sound from the show was pretty much because after John's entire introspection about shoes and Carl Powers, the scene closes with the quote, "I mean, you missed almost everything of importance," which was great on paper, because it harkens back on ep 3 where you know Sherlock is making fun of John's deductions, but aurally? Not much sense. So, between a bad place and a bad place, I chose to go with the option that would make the most sense to hear.
I'm really pleased you thought I managed to mirror the episode well enough, and incredibly chuffed that it was able to remind you of each scene it referred too. There was definitely a lot of VLC playback side by side with Garageband during the making of this. And thank you for being creeped out during the pool scene! I'm really happy to hear it :D
