I haven't actually recorded a podfic in ages and ages, and this is the first time I've recorded one by someone else! telesilla offered, a while ago, to let me podfic anything of hers I wanted, so when just starting out (experimenting with equipment, less-noisy locations in the house, etc.) I chose a very short one of hers with a really interesting pairing, not to mention (factoring in the doppelganger) one of my former OTPs. :)
