Oh god no, don't apologize! It wasn't a bad a cry! (At least, since I didn't get in an accident it wasn't! XD)
And I absolutely agree, the story really is an excellent AU. But I doubt I would have cried at the story itself, excellent as it is--it's the podfic that just intensifies all that emotion, and really shoves your face in it, makes you really face the emotions in it. And that's what really brought me to tears.
