Date: 2011-02-09 10:13 pm (UTC)(This is the second Muppets-related podfic I've made so far, and they both ended up incredibly music-heavy. So, I've gotta ask - did any of the songs get stuck in your head while you listened? 'Cause while I was reading the fic, I was mentally plotting out what songs would go where in the recording......)

Date: 2011-04-01 01:03 am (UTC)At least... HA! Okay, so honestly? This was your best.work.EVER.
Which is saying something, because you're a fantastic performer always. But reading back your previous comment that the fic ate your brain, I could tell that, just by listening to you read. Your voice was brighter, your sound effects (gasps, vocal tonality, Jensen's giggles) were crisper (or whatever the appropriate word would be) and I found myself smiling and/or giggling in places, early on, that I don't really remember reacting that strongly to while reading.
I mean, words cannot convey how amazing this was. I was totally flailing (okay, mentally - I was on a bus!) while listening. The music was perfectly picked and totally made me giggle.
I see you keep asking people about songs being stuck in their heads - it didn't in mine, though in my defense, I didn't grow up with Muppets, so I know Kermit-the-Frog and uh.. Miss Piggy? And that's about it. I find them creepy.
Did I mention how awesome this was? Just. Wow.

Date: 2011-04-04 12:40 am (UTC)I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Especially if the peg leg was holding you up - I'm a big flaily fan of pirates, but historically they don't have the best health care practices. For my family, we've watched "A Muppet Christmas Carol" every year since I can remember - like, some people watch the kid with the BB gun, or "It's A Wonderful Life", and we sing along with felt puppets about the spirit of the season. And, "Muppet Treasure Island" has always been my favorite Muppet movie - there's pirates! and swordfighting! and singing! - so when I saw this fic....I swear, I could hear the movie's soundtrack playing in my brain as I read the words. Since queenklu didn't actually include any of the lyrics from the MTI soundtrack, the fact I knew every word to every song in the movie might have helped a bit while I was editing this podfic (.....and, maybe that wasn't something I shoudl share with the entire internet). It was....kinda awesome, kinda eerie, to be honest.
Getting back to the leg thing you mentioed earlier: The character Jensen's based off of, in the movie, is played by Tim Curry - who is gruff, and awesome, and hilarious. You totally don't even notice the 'ew' factor of a severed leg while he's onscreen ;-)
Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy are singing the love duet during Jared and Jensen's fade-to-black moment. I'm still not sure if this is horrifying or awesome.
But, seriously, I'm very glad that you enjoyed this. And also smiling really hard at all the praise you just gave me. I'm all gleeful, I swear!
