Date: 2010-06-14 09:17 am (UTC)The way you lower your tone on the end of sentences makes it sound like you've had voice training, have you?
Love the injection of singing, the change of rhythm for different characters (you did that subtly enough that it wasn't silly or even very obvious at first, but you just gave each a little change, which really worked well, particularly for Flash). I also loved the way you could sing well, or badly, according to what was required. I'm totally impressed with you right now!
I did notice a couple of mispronunciations, but I'm wondering if I actually had typos and you were just reading as was - that seems most likely. I should go back and look and if so, fix them (specially if I wrote 'drug' for 'dragged', how embarrassment!). I noticed while hearing it spoken that there were a lot of things I'd like to go back and fix - pronoun misuse mostly. One day I might go fix it up. Hearing it like that... I wonder if I should read my stuff out loud to myself so I can pick up those issues before printing. Hmm...
The song inclusions actually worked well - so hat tip for you on that one! The amount of work you put into this, the quality of the reading, the singing, the professional style of your reading, everything was absolutely delightful.
This brought a huge smile to my face all week. I was hunting around for things to do that I didn't need to concentrate or have any noise, so I've created some paintings and hung them and organised my cosmetics (I have a huge collection) and sewed clothes and cushions and repaired things and fixed doors and so much in my house is organised and clean because I was grinning along to this.
Thank you for the wonderful, wonderful reading!

Date: 2010-06-15 03:08 pm (UTC)The only voice training I've had is some singing training in high school, which made it so interesting to deliberately sing badly as Clark. I actually had to teach myself how to sing badly, but that was my favourite part to record! On the other hand, though, I've been podficcing for three years now, so maybe practice is making perfect? :p The mispronunciations might be because I was getting tired and slurring, or perhaps it's just my Mid-Atlantic American accent coming out. I tried to fix any typos you might've had, so it was probably me.
Actually, I've always heard that reading your writing aloud definitely does help, and I completely agree. I do it with my own writing. And I've found from podfccing that you get a much greater sense of someone's writing by reading it aloud.
Thank you for your kind words, and I'm just glad I could do justice to your awesome fic! :D
