Two fandoms I got sucked into by podfic

I haven't hardly had time to listen to a lot of the podfic generated with the contest, but two brand new fandoms to me that I enjoyed were Jeeves/Wooster The Ruse to Save Jeeves written and read by [livejournal.com profile] triedunture and a magical version of Patrick O'Brian's Master and Commander world by [livejournal.com profile] astolat and read by [livejournal.com profile] leviticus_lied called Duende, found here

ETA> I goofed! I was supposed to do this in comments but got distracted and posted it instead. Sorry.

HEY. I don't mind your splashing my name up and down the comm.

I'm glad I could help spread the love for astolat's work - she's an amazing author. She writes for other fandoms, as well.

I think posting to the comm instead of in the comments of the modpost is perfectly okay! I even think that was the mods' plan all along. As long as one tags the posts - as you've done - then it's all fine and dandy. :))

Your confusion is precious though, it show the modpost wasn't clear enough! muhahaha, now I know what to post about next. (but only after dinner)

and whee! I crack myself up often, but I like it better when it amuses others too. :D

yes! posting is awesome. comments are okay, too, but posts get more attention!

I totally agree about the Jeeves stories read by [livejournal.com profile] dodificus and [livejournal.com profile] triedunture. They were all excellent stories and excellent readings, and I haven't thought about Jeeves and Wooster in years, hadn't even realized there was a fandom for it!

I haven't heard The Master and Commander one yet, but I adore [livejournal.com profile] astolat, the movie, and [livejournal.com profile] leviticus_lied's podfics, so I'll be sure to hunt it up!

Thanks for the recs!

Agreed. I recall being a fan of J&W on the telly back when it was on (good old Fry and Laurie!), but I only rediscovered my fandom thanks to [livejournal.com profile] dodficus' and [livejournal.com profile] triedunture's podfics. So, yay!

D'oh, credit where it's due. [livejournal.com profile] dodificus. There is in this case an iota of difference.

Indeed, and I enjoyed making covers for the podbook versions, too. Those faces are a joy to work with!

I'll definitely give it a listen. I've 'booked all of [livejournal.com profile] astolat's podics I have come across, so I hope I can do this one as well.

I listened today, and you were right: Duende was wonderful. Thanks for the rec.

Wow, thanks so much for the rec. I'm so pleased to see that these pods exposed new people to the Jeeves and Wooster fandom! It's the sweetest little fandom ever, and if you want to check out tons of lovely fics and art, you can visit the [livejournal.com profile] indeedsir comm. It's great!
