Amplificathon

Hi! Not sure where else to ask this, and sorry if I'm missing something. Is Amplificathon happening this year? Thanks!

Hey, y'all! Last month, Paraka made this post about The State of the Audiofic Archive, which basically says, "...on February 3 while trying to upload podfics, I got an error saying that the server was out of space. I hoped that would be a temporary error, but thus far it has not been resolved...This means we're unable to add any files to the Archive, whether they're new podfics or from the backlog of missing ones."

Since the Audiofic Archive was the backbone of Amplificathon, it obviously can't run in the same way that it has before. Currently, there is much discussion - I assume on Twitter? - about what type of challenge can replace it.

Wow, it's really the end of an era…

Thank you for responding; I'll dig around on Twitter and see if I can find those discussions.

As the mod of amplificathon, unless someone wants to take it over, and run it while the archive isn't working - which I don't advise - it's not going to happen this year. It was an amazing challenge that we loved dearly, but without the archive working properly, and while I'm running very low on spoons, I think that amplificathon, as a challenge, won't happen. There's some people with cool ideas for a similar festival/challenge/thing, though, so watch this space!
