(sadly, despite the title not ACD's Lost World, but still dinosaurs). Also, a Bones fusion, which if it comes to it is an AU of ACD's Sherlock anyway.

Summary: The idea that Professor Moriarty's project for a power station at this military base was somehow of greater value than this precious find of a several thousand year old mummified body was bad enough. The fresh corpse missing head and hands that had had appeared at her dig site was an insult.
As if she couldn't identify a body with less. She was the foremost forensic anthropologist in the world. Agent Joan Watson said, "I believe you, Doc." She also said she'd consider coitus after the case was solved. Thus motivated, Sherlock set to analysis.
How dinosaurs came into the picture, now that was just ridiculous. Though Sherlock quite liked it.

(I'll mention the reason Sherlock always refers to John as she/her is because she's Altrusians/the smart Sleestacks and given the theme of these stories, I messed with things and gave them only one gender, and everyone is she/her. That's not a Land of the Lost thing. It's a this story thing.)

Summary: She'lok's prurient interest in gender dimorphism had always been a bit... low for such an evolved being, but to encounter John, a life form from a species with six genders, it was just like the Winter Solstice festival.
There was also saving the world, but really... six genders instead of one... lovely.
