Megaupload, the state of the Archive, and Podbang

As you may be aware, Megaupload was shut down Thursday and all links to files hosted on the site are no longer viable. Some of you used Megaupload to host podfic, and most of you use some kind of temporary file host.

If anyone has lost their podfic to Megaupload (or through file deletion of any kind) and no longer have a copy of your work, we would like to help you recover it. Please leave a comment here and let us know what you're missing (and where it's been posted) and we will do our best to find someone who downloaded it and still has a copy.

If you see a request in the comments and you have the file someone needs, please help them out! And if your only copy of your podfic exists on a filesharing site, please back it up! We don't want anyone to permanently lose their fanwork. <3

After the Archive's temporary downtime last year, it came back up for a bright, shining moment, during which the archivists were able to work for, oh, 48 hours? And then the Archive broke itself once more (at least the front end still works this time? mostly? :D?).

Professionals are now being talked to in order to get the Archive up and running again. We hope to have a resolution soon.

Sadly, Podbang 2011 did not grow wings, but we're thinking ahead to Podbang 2012! Sometime soon we'll be querying the comm about changes we're looking at making to the challenge.

I'm a bit late to the post but it's always worth it in case someone sees this and needs it.
I've downloaded nearly all of the bandom podfics available as far as I know, a good few Supernatural, Glee, Doctor Who, American Idol and The Devil Wears Prada. Just leave me a comment if you need anything!

And I have, unfortunately, lost my recording of I Have Been All Things Unholy. I only had it backed up on Megaupload and deleted my copy by accident. I do have the podbook but I wouldn't know where to start with converting it into .mp3 so I can upload it to my new host (thanks, paraka, while I'm here!)

Would anyone have a copy? Thanks!

Ok, two things yes, you can convert thru ITunes, here's a little vid on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kQ5nWQXBeDQ and second, I actually DO have both mp3 and m4b of this. I doubt at the size of the file I can email it. I've never uploaded a file, so I need some pointers to get it to you.

No problem. I'm slowly converting my mp3's to mb4 to try and reduce the sheer volume of files i have.
