Build your own pop-screen!

I located a useful reference about how to make a pop-screen. It has pictures, too! A pop-screen is a mesh screen between the podficcer or podcaster and the mic to reduce those plosive sounds you get with 'p's, 'b's. etc. The recent remix podfic I made drove me crazy - for some reason I had popped my plosives all over it and although I know in theory you can edit the durn things out, I've tried this and it never sounds right afterwards.

I haven't made one yet, but it looks easy enough and I LOVE LOVE LOVE that it's made of pantyhose and an embroidery hoop! Talk about girly DIY. Go, Jake!

This is only helpful for a freestanding mic, not a built-in one. Linked to this, any tips about how to reduce irritating breathy noises in the pauses? I love making podfic but the endless editing does me in.
