Hurray! I love these stories!

Ooh, Holmes/Watson fic! Looking forward to listening! :D

Okay, I flailed in a way that involved literally flapping my hands against my own chest. I love this author's Holmesfic, and I have badly wanted podfic of it. I even thought about recording my own, but could not imagine recording it in my own accent. I'm downloading right now with extreme glee.

Wow - yay! Thanks so very much for recording these for me! I will enjoy listening to them as I drive, and cook, and fly back after the holidays. And six hours is impressive! Lots there to love. Thank you!

This story? Has now gotten me into a totally new fandom. Thanks, that's just what I needed. ;)

This is wonderful and I'm looking forward to listening.
Er - dear mod, could you rename the second download file, as it's the M4B version not the MP3 - it's just mildly confusing until you open the zip up - thanks!

What a great reading! There is so little podfic for Sherlock Holmes that I jumped on this the second I saw it! Listened to it immediately too. The stories are superb to begin with so this was such a pleasure, you made my New Year's!!

Thank you so much for recording these. I've been listening to this the last two days and quite enjoying it. I read Hound of the Baskervilles several years ago and perhaps one other Holmes story (I'm forgetting which one, it's been a while) but had never discovered the fandom. In discussing possibly going to see the new movie with a friend who's much more Holmes savvy than I she recommended Katie Forsythe's fiction, and I was so happy to find there were podfics. Your reading is quite lovely and you've made my day better by it. Thank you.

It takes me forever to listen to long podfic, so I'm VERY slowly working my way through the podbang stuff, but these were the very first ones I downloaded, because the combination of author and reader made me go !!!! and :D :D :D quite a bit. I spent the last couple weeks listening to these at bedtime, half an hour at a time, and they were so. great. I got really into your Holmes-voice in Hallowed - you did a great job of communicating his weird combination of self-knowledge and extreme-distance-from-feelings. As always, your pacing and timing were fantastic - you did so much justice to these much-loved (by me!) stories, and I cannot thank you enough for podficcing them. I'm sure I'll be listening to them many many times over the coming years. <3 <3 <3

I've just listened to the first hour of the first one, and I'm so glad I decided to give it a try. It's not a fandom I'm in at all, but I love this! There's something very sensual about the combination of the writing and the way you read it. That scene where Watson is lying on the bed getting a massage? Nnnnggh.

This reading is excellent. I am now hooked in this fandom, mostly thanks to this recording.

This is a stunning podfic and your reading voice is lovely.

You are far superior as a reader to half the professionals out there; I'd rather not think about how furious I was the last time I bought an audio book at Audible.com and the reader made a complete mess of it, kicking me out of the story repeatedly with his reading inconsistency, especially at emotionally crucial dialog and scenes.

Your unhurried reading, precise diction and neutral, intelligent tone and elocution made this as wonderful as a podfic as it was as a fic reading experience.

On the minor side, please note that I found several instances in the first book -Four Minor Interludes- where a sentence is repeated more than once, possibly a technical problem when joining two segments? It was a minor problem, but happened about 4-6 times I think. If I am not the only one to have this problem which impacted only the first book and you would appreciate getting specific times/instances, please let me know here (I will assume that the problem is on my side otherwise).

Thank you again for reading these two fics: Katie Forsythe is such an amazing writer and it is wonderful to be able to enjoy her stories while commuting, which your excellent and classy reading made possible at last!

Absolutely loved your work on these two excellent stories. I thought the way you read them, with distinct voices and emotion where called for but simply was completely riveting. Thanks so much for making these into podfic, I never would have had the chance to enjoy them otherwise!

Utterly fantastic

Thanks so much for these, I loved loved loved listening to them and will do so again and again I think. Please do more of Katie's amazing work whenever you have the time.

Yet another fandom whose ass you have kicked. This was spectacular.

[identity profile] starrylizard.livejournal.com 2011-04-06 10:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Heya, loved both of these. You have a wonderful reading voice.
Just a small thing, my copy of Four Minor Interludes seems to still have a number of repeats as if the editing wasn't complete. Could the wrong version have been uploaded?

Cheers
