ok, so the pairings in this story are:
john/ronon = 2
mcshep = 1
OT4 = 3
john/ofc = 2
elizabeth/ronon = 3
teyla/kate = 2
which makes a total of 13 pairing points. WOW.
also, i think the first vignette is john/atlantis (3), and i also think gamble is rodney/cadman (2), but i'm checking with punk to get her opinion before i award myself those points

i've got a question - can i post this to [livejournal.com profile] sgapodfic? or should i wait until the challenge is over? what do y'all think?

Listening now. Sounds fine!

the 7 is silent! how did i not know this?

yay you for posting - i'm sorry i didn't manage to get you archive entries first, but you'll get them in a sec. the archive has been a little broken, and is currently a little molassesy on the admin side. i'm getting there!

and you didn't give yourself enough points for able to zoo. you can count each pairing that is actually inarguably present in the story. so 3 points for the 0t4, 3 points for the elizabeth/ronon, etc. the only thing you can't count is gen, even if some of the vignettes are gen - the other pairings overwhelm it in this case. go points crazy! shoot for the moon! (consistency is the important thing, and i'm not letting anyone be shy about claiming points, so you can't be either.) :D

and crosspost like a mad thing if you so desire. we like to share!

Okay, so ... question on the 'gen' thing.

As soon as the author listens and decides I haven't butchered her story, I'm going to post a story that is mostly gen, but does reference a pairing, even if the pairing isn't the focus and there's little more than a few mentions of 'you two are so doing it'. Can I claim gen and the pairing?

[identity profile] podmod.livejournal.com 2008-04-12 07:18 pm (UTC)(link)
you can claim gen or the pairing. my take is that while a story can contain a number of different pairings, it can't be both gen and ship or slash.

exception:
a story that's a collection of unrelated smaller stories. like in the query here (http://community.livejournal.com/amplificathon/1757.html?thread=69085).

there may be other exceptions out there.

it is! you can tell because my co-mods both use uppercase letters on occasion. :p

also, i think i use more exclamation marks!!

i am good, now that the archive is back up and i am ON VACATION!!!11!!!!1!!

a) you should totally have an icon that says that. and i think it's hilarious.

b) :D

c) tea would be awesome. i am working on updates simultaneously in safari and camino, and safari is a chump and doesn't show me where the links go when i lazily mouseover. i still have the files on my desktop, so i figured i hadn't put them up yet. but now i think probably i left them there so i would not forget to listen to them!

d) hee! you totally do!

Oooooh! These look great! And the pairings for "Able to Zoo" are DEFINITELY intriguing! ha ha

Welcome to the wonderful world of podficcing! Looking forward to listening to these ...

no, i am going to misattribute and there is NOTHING you can do about it. SO THERE.

heh. it'll be fixed in a sec.

Yea! I love both of those stories, and I'm so glad to have them to listen to. And thank you for doing the podbook too!

I just thought I'd let you know I downloaded both podbooks from the links you posted and they both have the same 'Able To Zoo' covers.

Edited to add: And I just listened to 'broaden into boundless day' and wow, you do breathy sex noises really well...you kind of made me a little breathless just listening:) But I do love that story and somehow it's even more sad to me when I listen to it out loud, it makes me sad for *John* really:(

Better late than never:)

Also, it's kind of made me want to go relisten to the podfic again...so that's awesome!

I just listened to "Broaden into Boundless Day" the other day, and your reading of it was excellent! I literally fanned myself when John said "Oh, Jesus, Rodney". You convey emotion and humor really well. Thanks so much for recording this fic! Now I'll have to pop the other story in this post onto my ipod *grins*

I didn't think it was that bad, though I have a fairly high tolerance for technical quality so long as the reader's inflection and pacing are excellent. But I will also keep my eye out for your newer recordings, thank you!
