I don't properly know what to say about this one, aside from: I needed it. So I made it, despite how intimidating it was to take on a part of the Paradox Series, due to the extent which I adore it. I started it back at the beginning of September and a lot of blood, sweat, and tears have gone into it since. I think I'm finally satisfied enough to post it.

[livejournal.com profile] lunchy_munchy deserves a medal or a cake or a cake shaped like a medal for the beta process, which involved quite a bit of indispensable, thorough feedback and advice interspersed with quite a bit more hand-holding and reassurance. Many thanks must also go out to [personal profile] lunate8 too for letting me pick her brain periodically. And another thank you to [profile] sly_hostetter and [livejournal.com profile] bessyboo for talking me down from an editing freakout one night over Twitter. (Podfic community = ♥♥♥)

So here it is! At long last. I can only hope it is even a fraction as good as the stunning chapters recorded by FayJay ([personal profile] pandarus) and [livejournal.com profile] bronwynferchdai that precede it.

P.S. I'm trying something new with the inclusion of the streaming sample. Let me know if it was of use to you?

No words. Seriously. I've shied away from this part because of the summary, I could never bring myself to read it. But now, there's podfic, and... THANK YOU. So very, very much.

There is no way of expressing my joy that you have recorded this. It was beautiful, and I could feel my heart breaking listening to it. You have a wonderful voice, and I always enjoy listening to your work.

I shall go back to lurking now... *vanishes like a ninja*

I did a real double-take in front of my screen when I realised it's the Paradox series. There might have been flailing of an undignified fashion, but no need to focus on that when there is podfic to be enjoyed!

OMG!!! Apparently it's still Christmas, and this is the best thing I could hope for! I love this series soo dearly and come back to it again and again, and it's always been such a disappointment that the final installment was not podficced. I've wanted it so much I thought of actually recording it myself despite no experience! I'm delighted that it didn't come to that :D

A thousand blessings on your head, and I shall come back and squee some more, I'm sure, when I've had a chance to listen.

I want to thank you for this reading! I love to listen to the other chapters and I was hoping someone would read this one. I don't have the reading voice for it or I would have done it myself. I am very excited.

I have so much love for how you used music and sound effects in this. The staticy sound pretty much stopped my heart, its effect was so strong on me. I loved the way you showed Sherlock's crazy brain by speeding up and slightly overlapping the words in some of his 'lists' (I hope I'm explaining that properly). And, oh, John's faraway voice when he was telling Sherlock to breathe!

I really only ever need a person's voice in podfic but I'm always so impressed when people go above and beyond, especially when it works as well as it did here.

Jo, this piece is absolutely fabulous. The things you've done with editing! The effects and overlapping and sounds and songs... so often having these things inserted into a fic drives me to distraction. But here you've done it sublimely, it's a joy to listen to! Add to it, of course, your soothing voice and wordstrings' infamously gorgeous words, and it's something to be celebrated. Thank you!

Certainly do not fear for the reception of this work you did, it's lovely. I second everything mentioned above.
