Looking for people for a multi voice 616 verse avengers podfic. when the lights go on again.

Okay, so I just got permission to podfic  seanchai and elspethdixon's amazing story when the lights go on again. it is a massive 616 verse avengers story with the following pairings: Tony/Steve, carol/wanda and hank/jan.  Here is a summary of the story:Aliens have invaded earth, and the Avengers are scattered. While Steve leads the resistance, Tony once again finds himself playing captive scientist. In the midst of a violent alien regime, separated by seemingly insurmountable boundaries, Steve and Tony have nothing to keep themselves going but each other. my notes: absolutely stunning, one of the best avengers stories I have read. the alien culture is fully flushed out and interesting. all the characters in the story get screen time, and the story takes you on one hell of a ride.


I am looking into making this into a multi voice podfic. the story is easy to follow even if you have no knowledge of events in the 616 universe. You only need to know a bit about the avengers featured in the story, even if you don't know much about them, all you would need it a skimming of wikipedia of that character and their powers. I want to split this up by point of view below is a list of the characters and what chapters they show up in.

It looks like you're still short a few voices, so if you're willing to help a newbie, I'd love to pitch in. How will you be recording (doing) this--I've listened to some multi-voice fics, but am not familiar with how they're executed.

To be more specific; I'm not starting from scratch, though I haven't done any podfic. (yet. Big yet. It's something I have fairly specific plans for, soon.) I'm a good reader but only a tolerable actor. I have experience recording (and editing) in Audicity, but that was several computers ago; I have a good mic and a plan involving an older computer with less fan-noise than my primary laptop, but haven't gotten things together and set up yet. Working to deadline motivates me (a lot) which is why I'm offering--this should help kick-start me.

I don't have any particular attachment to any of the remaining characters, so hold me in reserve and slot me in where you need me. (Female, can't do a deep male voice but if I stick to the lower end of my range and don't over-emote I can hold a high tenor. I feel like Hank should probably growl a bit more than I can, but I'll have a stab if that's where I'd be useful.)

Oh, and one more thing--I have access to a computer with Skype. (I have to boot my husband off (and borrow his logon), but I can generally do that with a little warning.)

We would love to have you! We have someone interested in the alien queen, but hank and ismund are still open :) I am not sure exactly how we are doing this yet. I was originally just going to have everyone record their own parts and then edit it together, but if enough people want to, we could do skype sessions where we interact with the other podficcers as well.

Lovely! I'm game for either part, as needed. I wouldn't mind at least a skype rehearsal, so I can hear the other half of the conversation, but I suspect that doing final recoding (or re-recording as needed) in my own time might make for less frustration while I'm scaling the learning curve...
