Notes: I recorded this for the podfic bingo squares: Read Drunkenly and Slur/Mumble. So...I sort did the Read Drunkenly thing on two levels. I picked a story with a drunk character so that if it turned out I was incapable of reading while drunk I would still be covered. But then I also got drunk and recorded the story. That had mixed results. :) So the final version is a mix of two recordings. All of Charles' lines are from the recording I did while drunk, and they were kindly edited (by my good friend dr_fumbles_mcstupid) into a second recording I did while sober.

Zomg I have been longing for a podfic of zamwessell's work! (There is one extant but it's of the sole fic of theirs that doesn't really agree with me.) And now you have made one! Yayz. I look forward to listening. :)

Oh wow, this sounded totally different from the way it sounded in my head when I read it on the page (screen)! Your Charles seems to have got drunk specifically to seduce Erik, which is a take I had not considered before but makes a lot of sense. Cunning Charles!

Say, would you mind if I repodded this? I love it when there are multiple, very different podfic versions of fics I like, and this seems a good opportunity to create such a situation. If nothing else, there would be a higher quotient of zamwessell-related fanwork on the internets, and that would be a lovely thing.

I think it was that your Charles is a very giggly drunk--he sounds not just drunk but drunkly nervous, as if he has a plan that he's not sure will work. :D

You wouldn't happen to know if zamwessell has some sort of blanket permission policy, would you? I've left them a comment asking permission to podfic, just to be sure, but given their lack of posts in the past months, I'm not sure whether they still exist or have fallen off the face of the internets.

Sorry, I don't know if zamwessell has a blanket permission policy. Yeah, when I messaged I sort of didn't think I would hear back because it had been so long since they posted, but I think I actually heard back like the first day or something...so hopefully you'll get a response. :)

I think this method worked amazingly well, it clearly differentiated between calm and (relatively) in control Erik and meandering, happy drunk Charles. It was fun to listen to:)

Thank you! I'm glad you thought it worked well. When I recorded I kinda thought I would just use one or the other....but I guess I overestimated my ability to sound really, truly drunk while sober...or to narrate properly without laughing in the middle of lines while drunk. :) So yay for the magic of editing!
