Floating City (Welcome to Night Vale)

Story: Floating City (1948 words) by EHyde

Reader: [personal profile] susan_voight

Fandom: Welcome to Night Vale

Relationship/Characters: Gen; Cecil, Carlos, Pamela Winchell, Intern Devon, Hiram McDaniels, Intern Dana

Author's summary: A new off-ramp has appeared on Interstate 800. It appears to lead to the giant floating city that's hovering in the sky over Night Vale. Plus, an update from Intern Dana!

Content notes: no standard notes apply. Author's rating: general audiences.

Length: 18 minutes, 35 seconds.

Download or Stream: at the Archive of Our Own (to reduce time spent fighting linkrot). If AO3 is down, check out my reader page at the audiofic archive or my Google Drive.

Reader's note: I love (a) episode-style fics and (b) challenges, but doing a Cecil episode as opposed to an OC episode turned out be much more of a challenge than I was expecting. Learn something new every day! Still, it was fun, even three complete drafts later.

Feedback and constructive criticism: better than visiting the big city.

You can buy the weather, which is "The Wind and Rain" by Atlan, at Amazon or iTunes, or learn more at the band's website.

(Also posted to [livejournal.com profile] amplificathon, [community profile] nightvale_dogpark, and AO3. Archivists, can the AO3 link be my feedback link? Thanks.)

1) This story is incredible and perfect and contains everything I would expect from a Night Vale episode.
2) Your performance is /awesome/. Seriously. The pacing, editing, and tone are all spot on. I love it a lot. Possibly more than I can actually describe with words. Wow. Bravo.

Thank you so much for sharing this, it's lovely. ^_^
