If you want to know the source material, the book has been translated into English, and also there's a pretty good English-language movie adaptation from 1988 (Dangerous Liaisons). It's about two 18th century French aristocrats who try to out-evil each other, mostly by seducing the virtuous. It's fun in a very wicked way.
