Fun fact: when I first came across a rec for the story that only gave a fic header and the summary, I passed it by, thinking the fic would involve Sherlock building robot!Johns and them continually dying, or something equally sad. I came round to reading it eventually though and was delighted to find that it was actually very sweet, with melancholy enough for Sherlock but a hopeful ending. And small fuzzy animals; I'm a sucker for those. ;)
